How to Help
April 17th, 2007 by admin
1. Daily Prayer and frequent reception of the sacraments.
2. Inform Yourself: How can you be an effective life advocate if you don’t know the issues? There’s some information you simply must know in order to answer questions from uninformed or misinformed people on the spot. Would you know what to say if someone said to you: “I can’t get around the unsympathetic nature of pro-lifers. What about rape, incest or to save the life of the mother,” or “Vatican II changed the position of the Church on contraception, so we can use our consciences now.” Could you give them the real facts? Contact FLI for more information.
3. Attend Regular Helper’s Vigils: The Helpers of God’s Precious Infants regularly pray and counsel outside Sydney abortuaries. For more information please call Paul on (02) 9524 6563.
4. Maintain Pro-life Parish Contacts: Are you willing to promote pro-life events and prayers in your own parish? We are always looking for Catholics / Christians to advertise pro-life talks or gatherings in suburban churches. A Pro-life Parish Contact is asked to encourage his priest/minister to speak out on pro-life issues, to offer him information (tapes and booklets provided free of charge from FLI), to put up advertising flyers on their parish notice board and to distribute pro-life prayer cards / leaflets in parish magazine racks or on tables in the foyer. If you can help out in this way, please contact the office on (02) 9519 9111.
