The Kick-Off Rally
I wish to thank you for what was an inspiring event to attend. The launch was so well organized; it is so inspiring to see the efforts behind the campaign and I wish all at FLI well with such important work! Many thanks and congratulations. – Mary Winkels (Life Marriage & Family Centre)
Being part of this day was a gift I have always desired. The prayerful march to the preterm abortuary on 1 Randle Street, Surry Hills made a deep impression on me. With Bishop Julian Porteous leading the praying congregation through the streets with lighted candles, I saw the witness of faith in a world eager to embrace the culture of death. The spontaneous reaction of most people, even those having the best of bottles that evening proved that the gospel preached by that peaceful procession was so eloquent and perhaps confronting to the defiant spirit of evil which prompts the merciless killing of innocent persons in the womb. The procession also was an appeal for men and women of our time to repent and return to the mercy of God. – Stephen Onyekwere
We attended the 40 Days Launch as a family and found it to be a beautiful experience. Thanks to FLI staffer, Meg, who directed us up to the choir loft, we had a great position for the packed Opening Mass with Bishop Porteous. The atmosphere during the Candlelit Procession and afterwards in the courtyard, was very family-friendly. We were all impressed by the cheerfulness and dedication of the young pancake-flippers and the welcome our kids received from everyone. Blessings on Director Paul Hanrahan and the 40 Days team for organising such a prayerful and inspiring evening!” – Jane Gresser
God became man. The very creature He decreed as ‘very good.’ He started in the womb just like us- weak, vulnerable, precious and of course ‘very good.’ We are called to see Christ and the good in others and that include our unborn brothers and sisters. The launch of ’40 Days for Life’ on the eve of Ash Wednesday was my first, and a powerful yet peaceful way to begin Lent. As we processed and prayed opposite the abortion clinic, there were a handful of people who verbally vented their opposition. They were drowned out by the rosary. Through prayer, good will always prevail, hearts will convert, and unborn babies will be respected as ‘very good.’ – Brother John Nguyen OFM Cap
